MOVIE REVIEWS?!? SOME SoN SHIT!! (hopefully...) L WORD RECAPS?!? MORE SHIT RE: GIRLTRASH!!! THE 2ND INSTALLMENT OF: LESBIAN COUGARS!!! ...AND EVEN MORE SEXY LADIES!!! ...apparently i just have nothing better to do with my time.. like, seriously.
half of these things will probably never happen... well except for the sexy ladies... but i swear i'll try... l word recaps will probably come as the episodes air in canada (circa september) and SoN i'll likely give a shot at recapping too... we'll see how shit goes down.
anyway, i've totally been MIA for most of the summer, so i'm hoping to fix that
so for those who fell off the face of the earth for the last 6 months are still unaware, girltrash is a lesbian-based-pseudo-gangster web series directed by the amazing angela robinson (of d.e.b.s fame) that i told y'all about earlier
well since then there have been some pretty fucking hot casting additions... and as of today's date the first 3 webisodes are available online at the the girltrash homepage (run by lesbian networking site, ourchart)
so for y'all who have fallen behind and those who just simply have no clue what i'm talking about, here are some updated character bios & pics, and a bit of a recap of the first three webisodes.

THE BIG THREE: TYLER (michelle lombardo)
tyler is the first character we're introduced to. if you think you've got girl issues, you should check her rap... left penniless by her married ex-lover and with a penchant for the pretties, she's found herself in 2 questionable situations already--both centering around her rather twisted relationship & sordid past with the beautiful louanne.
DAISY (lisa rieffel)
daisy is also introduced in the first webisode as the veritable sidekick of tyler. the two seem to have a history of friendship, although they're definately quick to snap at eachother (as all real friends should be). daisy appears to be the rational balance to tyler's dreamlike pseudo-reality from what we've seen, although it's been mentioned she also has a weakness for the ladies.
LOUANNE (riki lindhome)
introduced in episode 2 as notoriously promiscuous, she's definately contributed to tyler's web of problems. after stealing tyler's money, she's found herself in more girl trouble -- namely sleeping with another man's finacee and stealing his money as well... this man just happened to be the brother of a woman known as "the widowmaker".
THE NEW TWO:
MING LAO (margaret cho)
otherwise referred to as "the widowmaker", we're yet to meet her, although we see a short clip of her walking with her sidekick monique. ming lao is out for louanne's blood to avenge her brother's honour. and as a result of louanne's twisted web, tyler & daisy have become the targets as well.
MONIQUE (rose rollins)
we've yet to meet monique, but know that she is the badass sidekick of ming lao. previously referred to as "the enforcer", it's sure that she's not a woman to be fucked with and that she's all business.
so those are all the characters that we've encountered, either directly or indirectly, up to this point... along with a little taste of what's happened so far, although i didn't wanna give so much detail that the eps wouldn't be worth watching ;)
and beyond the mini-recap, here are the characters slated to appear that we have not seen yet:
MISTY (mandy musgrave)
mandy is better known as the incomparable ashley davies from south of nowhere (which i am rather excited is about to premiere it's 3rd season!! :D). the role transfer is easy for mandy as she plays the tougher half of spaz-squared, another venture as the partner of gabby christian.
COLBY (gabrielle christian)
gabby's best known as spencer carlin, ashley's lady love from south of nowhere. with the dynamic already present between mandy and gabby from SoN, i'm quite excited to see the chemistry between these two characters.
LANA (amber benson)
amber benson's finally back. if i remember correctly, lana is slated to be some sort of russian seductress... i'm not aware of any potential connections to characters, although the trailer shows her getting rather close to tyler (then again, the trailer shows everyone getting awfully close to tyler).
and in addition to these lovely ladies above, we'll still see jordana brewster, maeve quinlan, and an unidentified blonde that was in the trailer...
alls i can say is MORE, MORE, MOOOOOOOORE.

07/06 edit: jordana brewster actually had to drop out of the project due to a pilot that she's filming.. one piece of fine ass eyecandy down :(
so, angela robinson is directing a new series called "girltrash" which ourchart.com describes as:
"Set in the criminal underworld of Los Angeles with a dark but over the top Miami Vice vibe, Girltrash! follows the story of five ass-kicking girls, getting by any way they can, even if it means double crossing your best friend or former lover.
A gang war is brewing. You'll be asked to... Pick a side."
so why am i looking forward to the series so much? well, let me count the reasons...
#1. it's directed by ANGELA ROBISON, duh.i can look past the fact she's chosen some bad movies to work on... ...cuz hello D.E.B.S. and one of the greatest episodes of the l word EVER. with her at the helm, it's bound to be sexy and hilarious... and sexy. definately sexy. (i feel weird saying that with herbie right there...^^)
#2 have you SEEN the CAST?!?!? these "five ass-kicking" (six) fine ass girls? whoo, catch my breath now...
a) jordana brewster character: marianna, the kingpin drug lord bestill my heart. lucy diamond is back, and just as sexy. i fell in love with jordana when 'the faculty' came out.... and, well, clearly D.E.B.S. didn't hurt her any. and she's gonna be mrs smith in the tv version of the brangelina flick... not to mention there were rumours being tossed around about a possible tv role as lara croft???thank you sir, i'd like some more.
b) margaret cho character: ming-lao/"the widowmaker", marianna's rival let's ignore the fact she's just one of the coolest chicks ever... case in point... i expect her awesomeness to contribute greatly to the awesomeness of the show... not to mention she also adds something to the HOTness factor of the show. "your puss run on fossil fuels"
c) rose rollins character: monique, the enforcer well, courtesy of this week's l, we've seen the goods... and they're delicious. i can't wait to see her all classy gangsta in this series. angry yelling, gun waving, it's all good. i mean look at her, she looks fucking badass.
d) riki lindhome character: louanne, small time thief and big time heartbreaker riki is one of those girls you know you;ve seen somewhere, but you're not sure where... cuz they've been in everything. she was in million dollar baby, pulse, and has been on buffy, gilmore girls, and heroes. she's adorable, and not a stretch for a heartbreaker :)
e) AND f) SPASHLEY!!!!!! ...or as they're somtimes known, gabby christian and mandy musgrave.
oh, right, girltrash... heh... here are their characters in action:

anyway, there's:
i. mandy, a.k.a. misty: juvenile delinquent and "rebel with a cause" ii. gabby, a.k.a. colby: the good girl so... they basically ARE spashley?? hmm
oh, and that pic of gabby as 'colby' made me laugh... hard... out loud. welcome to one girl for whom it is impossible to look all gangstarrrrr.
